Hey, Fire Nation! I have a special announcement. I was just asked to speak at New Media Expo in Las Vegas on January 6th, 7th and 8th, hosted by BlogWorld at the Rio. I couldn’t be more excited. When some of Fire Nation found out about this, they contacted me and they said, John, we want to do a Fire Nation meetup in Vegas. I think it’s a great idea. I’m going to hand the mic over to Chris and Jared, two Fire Nation Igniters and let them tell you more.

Erik does a lot of great stuff online.  Something that I’m excited about is his new podcast, Beyond the To Do List, which is all about perspectives on personal productivity. He talks with his guests about how they manage their time, prioritize their tasks, and take steps to avoid burnout.

Alright, Fire Nation! Welcome to another Weekend Jam Session where you ask, I answer to the best of my abilities, and where I can’t, I bring in experts from the outside to answer your questions. We’re going to start this show off a little different. I’m going to call it The Best Review Segment. Now, if you really enjoy EntrepreneurOnFire, it warms my heart when you go and you leave a 5 star rating and review in iTunes. It really helps with the exposure of the show. It helps EntrepreneurOnFire continue to climb the rankings in iTunes. So it really means a lot to me, Fire Nation. Every now and then, I just get an insanely fun or different review, so I’m going to start sharing those on the Weekend Jam Session.

Fire Nation, welcome to another Weekend Jam Session. I hope you’re gearing up or gearing down for the holidays, whichever you prefer, and that you’re just really excited to wind down 2012 and then just ignite into 2013. I sent out an email to my treasured Fire Nation subscribers the other day with this question – what do you think is keeping you from starting/stopping/finishing and/or scrapping? And I just left it at that. I really just wanted people to hit the reply button and come back with the first sentence that came to mind. I asked for one sentence, and Fire Nation, you replied in droves. I have a ton of great responses, and I’ve picked out some of my favorites to run through right now.

Back to the Roots was founded by Alejandro Velez & Nikhil Arora.  They came across the idea during a class lecture of being able to potentially grow gourmet mushrooms entirely on recycled coffee grounds. Inspired by the idea of turning waste into wages & fresh, local food, they became full-time urban mushroom farmers and Back to the Roots was born!
